Cleaning instructions

Solar panel modules are designed to have a long service life.

Due to the roof pitch greater than 17°, special cleaning of the solar panels is usually unnecessary, as being cleaning with rainwater is sufficient.

If the aforementioned self-cleaning is insufficient in specific cases, regular manual cleaning can increase yields.

Regular cleaning is recommended in particular situations such as an extremely high pollen count or incidence of dust.

In general, clean with treated water and a soft cloth or sponge.
Impurities such as drilling dust or mortar residues on coated or bare aluminium parts must be removed immediately.
Do not scrape off dirt dry or use harsh cleaning agents.
Do not use a high-pressure cleaner under any circumstances.
Do not use materials such as aggressive chemicals, abrasives, blades, steel wool, polishes, etc. These can damage the glass surface or the anti-reflective layer. This will void the warranty.
Subsequent application of water-repellent or dirt-repellent coatings can have a negative impact on the efficiency of the solar panels and thus on the yield.

The PREFA solar roof should only be cleaned by qualified personnel. The manufacturer’s guidelines must be observed.
